The Calgary Chapter of the Canadian Marketing Association, (Calgary CMA), is a not-for-profit industry association which supports the marketing, media, and advertising industry in Calgary. With over 500 active members and associates representing companies from a diverse cross section of Calgary’s business community, The Calgary CMA acts as a forum representing all emerging marketing techniques and business issues affecting Marketing and Communication professionals.

Each year, Calgary CMA hosts an event which includes a golf tournament, charity dinner and auction. Celebrating its 21st year, our 2011 event will take place on June 22nd at the world famous Banff Springs Golf Club, where participants will have a chance to win fantastic prizes including over $1,000,000 dollars worth of Supercars. You are invited to gather with 200 other business leaders from Calgary and across Canada for a spectacular day of golf, philanthropy and fun.

On the evening of June 21, we will be hosting “A Conversation with Chris Rudge.” Chris Rudge is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the 100th Grey Cup Festival in 2012. Since 2003, Rudge held the office of Chief Executive Officer of the Canadian Olympic Committee (COC) and for the past two years, he has also served as Chairman of the steering committee of the Own The Podium initiative. We hope you can join us for this exciting discussion, as Mr. Rudge unveils a bold new initiative designed to recognize Canadian companies on the Global stage.

In order to achieve the goal of exceeding $333,000 donated to our charities by 2012, we need your help as sponsors of the 2011 CMA Calgary Golf Tournament. Join other industry leading companies such as Canada Post, First Capital, Rainmaker Global Business Development, Action Insurance Group, St Joseph Media, Bentley-Aston Martin, West Canadian Graphics, Suitcase Interactive, and Displayco.

Please take a moment to review the list of sponsorship opportunities we have available for our 2011 event. On behalf of CMA Calgary, Ronald MacDonald House of Southern Alberta, Scott Smed Memorial Foundation, and the Impact Society, I do hope that you will find it in your interest to position your company favorably in front of this influential audience while supporting these wonderful charities.

Thank you.

Scott Smed Memorial Foundation

Scott Smed Memorial Foundation

In 2000, a small golf event was started to honour Shannon Bowen-Smed and Peter Smed’s son Scott, who passed away at birth. Since then, the tournament has evolved into an incredible day of laughter, tears and giving that unites golfers, sponsors, volunteers and donors. Over $640,000 has been raised to help families experiencing the pain of infancy and pregnancy loss, as well as provide care for abandoned children in babies’ orphanages in Uganda. Together, we’ve created a sanctuary of comfort and care – and a legacy of hope – through the Scott Smed Rooms at the Rockyview General Hospital, Foothills Medical Centre and the Peter Lougheed Hospital, as well as the Scott Smed Centre of Excellence planned for the South Health Campus.
